About Andean Functional Wellness
OUR PURPOSE
Andean Functional Wellness is a space designed to help and provide tools to people to improve their health in a functional, integrative, and holistic way, empowering them to live a healthier, balanced life.
AFW was born after years of working in conventional medicine and discovering through functional medicine another way to approach health care.
On this new path, I learned that we can understand what our body is telling us, comprehend its manifestations, and even prevent chronic diseases, because compassion and love begin with self-care.
That’s why, for me, the most important thing is to start with gut health, as it clearly exemplifies how the connection between mind and body affects our health.

What is Functional Medicine?
Functional medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of disease. It involves a holistic, patient-centered approach that considers the interactions between genetics, environment, lifestyle and the mental and emotional state, which can influence long-term health.
Within functional medicine, for me the most important thing is to start with gut health.
Our Microbiome
The microbiome is a community of trillions of tiny organisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes, that live in and on your body. Most of these microorganisms are found in your gut, particularly in the intestines. And it helps to regulate different functions is our body.
- Gut microbiome is unique. Just like finger prints.
- The composition is influenced by factors such as genetics, diet, lifestyle, environment, and early-life experiences.
- Beneficial bacteria in the gut help train the immune system to differentiate between harmful pathogens and harmless substances, reducing the risk of autoimmune diseases and allergies.

I have worked in conventional medicine for the past 11 years. During the pandemic, I experienced burnout, and in the search for a better way to help people and improve my life/career, I found my new path in life: a more holistic approach to health and wellness.
Following this new path, I learned about the importance of having a healthy microbiota and, having experienced gut problems for many years, during my training in Functional Medicine, I discovered the importance of gut health.
My goal is to give the tools and help people to improve their health with a holistic approach (nutrition, sleep, stress management, education, connection between emotions and symptoms).
I completed my ancestral and functional medicine education through the Kresser Institute in 2021.Today, I am working in my functional wellness health consultant virtual practice

STEP 1
Schedule FREE 15 min phone call to share current health struggles and I will share my thoughts and comfort levels in helping you to achieve your gut health goals and more details on stool testing and payment options for my service.
STEP 2
Answering a short client questionnaire about current health issues/ life style and ordering stool testing kit that will be sent to your home
To evaluate the status of your gut health, we rely on a stool test which is a way to learn about the health of your digestive system by examining your poop! It’s like giving a sneak peek into what’s happening inside your gut.
STEP 3
After receiving results will schedule and attend a 60 min online visit to review testing results and discuss further personalized recommendations such as diet, probiotics, botanicals, stress relieve techniques and other life style modifications in order to help you to restore your gut microbiome in ah holistic way
